St George’s Day parade leads to road closures

SCOUTS and Guides will hold their annual St George’s Day parade through York tomorrow.

Around 2,000 people are to parade along Tower Street, Clifford Street, High Ousegate, Davygate, Parliament Street, St Helen’s Square, Duncombe Place and Blake Street. Those roads will be closed to vehicles.

CoYC have legal powers to close roads for events. Interestingly I didn't see a single police officer or PCSO on the Parade as it started from Cliffords Tower. Only CoYC Officials assisted by Scout etc volunteer marshalls.
But it all seemed to go smoothly.
