A DRINK-DRIVER has been banned from the roads and ordered to pay £400 after a crash that left him and his passenger injured.

Stephen Jonathan Daniel, 35, crashed the Mercedes C Class in Stockwell Road, Knaresborough, on January 22. He suffered a broken ankle and his passenger suffered facial injuries.

He has now appeared in Harrogate Magistrates Court and pleaded guilty drink-driving, driving without due care and attention, and driving with no insurance.

For the drink-driving, Daniel, of Frogmire Close in Knaresborough, was banned from driving for 14 months, fined £110, and told to pay a victim surcharge of £20 and costs of £85.

He was also fined £75 for driving without due care and attention and £110 for driving without insurance, and given penalty points for both offences.
