A 38-year-old man has been punched, knocked to the ground and kicked by three men in Malton.

The assault happened in the early hours of Sunday in Yorkersgate, said North Yorkshire Police..

"After the assault, the three men all headed down Railway Street," said a spokesman.

"As a result of the incident, the injured man suffered bruising to his face and body, which required treatment in hospital."

He said the first assailant was white, around ft 5ft 6in tall and aged in his mid-twenties, with short brown hair and was wearing a cream coloured t-shirt and blue jeans.

"The second man is also white and in his mid-twenties. He is around 6ft 3in tall with black hair which is short around the sides and curly on top. He was wearing a blue Adidas t-shirt. The third man is also white and around 5ft tall. He has short curly ginger hair."
