TWO men have fled the scene after a car crash in York in which a lamp-post was knocked over.
The men, who are in their twenties, are reported to have disappeared after the crash in Water Lane between Clifton Moor Gate and Burdyke Avenue at 7.15am.
North Yorkshire Police said it is suspected the driver may have been drinking and took the silver Kia from a party in Clifton.
The road was closed for a couple of hours after the crash due to the electrical risk caused by the lamp-post being knocked over. It has now re-opened.
The driver is described as having a moustache and wearing navy blue clothes.
No arrests had been made this morning but police inquiries were ongoing, a police spokesman said.
Anyone with information is asked to call North Yorkshire Police on 101.
