The 18-year-old, a signaller with 2 Signal Regiment based at Imphal Barracks, was last seen in the Ouse after a night out with friends in the early hours of April 3.
Police divers have searched around King’s and Queen’s Staith, where he was last seen, and further downstream to Skeldergate Bridge.
Yesterday, volunteers based in Nottingham used underwater scanning technology in a boat to look at the riverbed.
The Press understands several of the team are formerly of underwater rescue charity SARbot, but are acting independently. Others were understood to be from Diveable, a charity which teaches disabled people to dive.
