No make up pictures inspire Bradley Winters' naked charity run at Knavesmire

Bradley Winters on his run

Bradley Winters on his run

Updated in News

PEOPLE near the Racecourse this week may have seen more than they bargained for as a nearly naked fundraiser took part in his own version of a "no make-up selfie".

Bradley Winters, 17, from Old Earswick, said he was inspired by the many girls he had seen posting pictures without make-up and donating to charity that he wanted to make his own contribution.

Donning what appeared to be a sock, he ran a lap of the racecourse, to so far raise about £350 for Cancer Research UK.

Bradley said: "It was freezing and raining but I ran round the whole racecourse. I think it could become the next thing for Cancer Research, to have more men running naked.

"My friends thought it was quite funny but they were proud of me."

Bradley said he wanted to do something as his nanna, Joyce died after suffering skin cancer.

A good cause, but actually illegal. Encouraging kids to run around naked in public is not going to end well. Sock over their tackle or not.

PS Is that kid holding a Cider Can in the picture?

No its a bottle of energy drink

It might be illegal, but so was samesex marriage yesterday. The law does not differentiate between right and wrong.

If he had a sock on his tackle, it ws no more indecent than wearing a thong anyway.
Good on him I say. Daft, but good on him.

There is always one who has to put a downer on things. If it raises money and awareness, good on him.

I know this young man from the football circuit and he's a good sport. Well done Brad, good cause. All you miseries moaning about legality, at least he's gone out and done something to help.

Being naked in public is not illegal. The Naked Rambler has proven that, in appropriate situations being naked is within the law. It's a question of whether it was reasonable to be naked on the Knavesmire at the the time, and quite clearly it was. A few hardy souls supporting the lad and that's about it. Well done to the lad.

What's that you say? No bicycles? Are you sure? NO bikes at all?

Oh. Oh well yes ... er well I apologise... yes, er bravo! Well done! Good effort that man! Great way to raise awareness all round! Ten out of ten!
