THE Archbishop of York has made three new appointments to the Minster's governing body.

David Butterfield, Archdeacon of the East Riding, will become Archdeacon for Generous Giving and Stewardship and Residentiary Canon of York Minster, while Neil Harkin, who has been on the Minster's Finance Committee since 2011, has been appointed as Lay Canon and Chapter member from Friday, June 27.

In addition, Canon Dr Andrew Green has had his term as Canon Treasurer at the Minster renewed for a further three years. He became a lay canon in 2008 and was appointed Canon Treasurer in May 2010, with overall responsbility for finance.

Dean of York the Very Reverend Vivienne Faull,, said: “The Chapter of York is delighted that David and Neil will be joining us and that Andrew’s term of office has been renewed. Their arrival strengthens the team leading the development of the mission and ministry of York Minster at an exciting time.”
