THANK you to the people of Salisbury for supporting Salisbury Trust for the Homeless (STFH) so well in the last few months.

We raised £5,000 in collecting tins alone in December - on the street, outside shops and while singing carols.

Our autumn concert raised well over £2,000.

The annual efforts to date raised £21,000, and including regular donations from individuals and organisations the total is well over £42,000 - this is more than double our expectations.

Your money has been well spent. We have bought new furniture for one of our houses and had two decorated and carpeted in the communal areas.

Some money has been spent on a leaking roof and clearing two large trees from storm damage. We have helped a number of clients find their own independent accommodation, and helped them furnish it and settle in. We have also supported clients with travel costs to get to job interviews.

Very soon STFH hopes to save rent by purchasing another house. All our supporters could help by giving a brick (or two or more) at £5 each.

Use Justgiving on our website, stfh.org.uk or post to STFH, 148 Fisherton Street, Salisbury SP2 7QW.

All future fundraising activities are described in detail on the website. They include a photographic competition, a really exciting sleepover at Old Sarum Castle in July, a summer party in Miles Place, also in July, and more to come later in the year. Don’t miss anything.

You might like to look after one of our gardens. Not grass-cutting or hedgeclipping but weeding and pruning perhaps twice a year. If you can help, give me a call on 01722 504295.
