COUNCIL tax payers are being urged sign up to receive their council tax bills by email.
City of York council says sending printed bills to 86,000 households in the city costs more than £30,000 each year, and they hope to cut these costs by encouraging people to opt to take their bills online.
To sign up for e-billing, residents need to have their last council tax bill to hand and go to the Do It Online section of york.gov.uk, click on to Apply Online, Council Tax, select Council Tax e-billing, and follow the instructions.
