Room With A View, a painting by Yorkshire-born artist David Hockney, which is to be auctioned in a sale of modern British and Irish art at Bonhams in Bond Street on May 28.

The boldly coloured oil on canvas, which depicts the artist’s home and studio in Bridlington, is estimated to sell for £150,000 to £200,000.

The sale will also feature the more abstract and mysterious Tyger, which is estimated to sell for £40,000 to £60,000.

Penny Day, of Bonhams, said: “We are delighted to be offering two significant paintings by such an important British name. Both works are of contrasting date and style, presenting an exciting opportunity for collectors”.
