FRESH plans have been submitted to turn the former home of Yorkshire tourism into an organic nursery, potentially creating 45 new jobs.
Under the plans the building in Tadcaster Road in York, which was used by the Yorkshire Tourist Board before it moved to Leeds in 2009, would become a private day nursery with space for 110 children. A previous planning application was submitted then withdrawn last year.
Entrepreneur Vanessa Warn, who already runs the Little Green Rascals nursery at York Maze, said the new venture could create 25 full-time and 20 part-time jobs.
In 2012, she won The Press’ Local Business Accelerators competition after impressing judges with her plans for expanding her business.
A decision is expected in April. The site has been empty since last spring.
