CAB runners and supporters George Vickers, Hayley Green, Eileen Dale, Adrian Widdowson and Dawn Moores
A TEAM of runners from York Citizens Advice Bureau (CAB) is set to take part in the Jane Tomlinson Run for All 10k in York this Sunday.
Treasurer Adrian Widdowson, one of the runners, said he was hoping to raise the profile of the CAB as a local independent charity and encourage the people of York to support its work.
“The CAB is all about giving people in difficult situations the advice and information they need to help them take control of their lives,” he said.
“York looks like a wealthy city if you come here as a tourist, but anybody who lives here knows that York has areas of serious deprivation and poverty.”
Chief executive George Vickers, who is also running, said that with the economy still facing recession, CAB was seeing a big increase in demand for its services.
