Wallis Business Services staff to run York 10K in support of colleague

MEMBERS of staff from Wallis Business Services prepare to compete in the Jane Tomlinson York 10k run, on Sunday, in support of a colleague who is recovering from breast cancer.

Led by Peter Wallis, director of the Clifton Moor-based company, the 14-strong team is aiming to raise £1,400 for Macmillan Cancer Support.

Their colleague, Michaela Dobson, was diagnosed with breast cancer last July – but is now on the road to recovery after undergoing two operations, chemotherapy and radiotherapy.

Peter said: “Macmillan is a really good charity to run for because cancer is such a big issue and everyone knows someone who has been touched by the disease.”

The oldest member of the team will be Peter’s 73-year-old father, also called Peter, who founded Wallis Business Services 45 years ago.
