A HOSPICE is calling for runners to take part in two events this year to help celebrate its 25th anniversary.

St Leonard’s Hospice, based in Tadcaster Road, York, is looking for athletes to run the Kielder marathon, on Sunday, October 17, and the Jane Tomlinson 10k run, in York on Sunday, August 1.

Helen Moreton, retail manager at the hospice, and her family have already signed up for the 10k run. They are hoping that many more will join them.

Helen said: “These two runs offer the chance to raise funds for the work of St Leonard’s Hospice in our Jubilee Year. If you’re a runner please consider applying for either or both.” The charity has offered to provide special t-shirts and help with sponsor forms.
