York 10K Race Day information

Everything you need to know about the York 10K this Sunday.

Arrival Time – Race Office opens at 7am

Start Time – Race starts at 9am

Starting Place – Knavesmire Road, York (York Race Course)

Where to park:

  • Located on the Knavesmire off Tadcaster Road (A1036). Easily accessible to those traveling from York
  • Located off Bishopthorpe Road accessible from the A64.

Points of interest around the course - The Knavesmire – York Racecourse, Along the River Ouse,
York Minster and Cliffords Tower.

Need to know bits and pieces.

There is no need to register if already have your number.

Please arrive early as over 6000 people will be heading to the Knavesmire.

A warm up will take place before the event.

There is plenty taking place on the Knavesmire for all the family including a mascot race and the Junior and mini run after the 10k.

Asda Active will also be there, parents and children can get involved in a range of sporting activities, including Athletics, Football, Cricket, Zumba and an inflatable assault course.

Runners and spectators can watch the Olympic Women’s Marathon on the big screen situated close to the Start Line.

Premiership football referee, Howard Webb, Lord Mayor of York, High Sheriff of York will be our official starters of the York 10K.

Adrian Fitzpatrick, Managing Director of our Junior & Mini Run sponsor, Arena Group, will officially start the Junior Fun Run along with 7-year-old James Driver – who suffers from Cerebral Palsy but managed to complete the Junior Fun Run, despite doctors’ predictions that he would never walk or talk, at the Leeds Half Marathon earlier this year.
