A MAN who told a security guard I “will kill you” has been fined £135.
John Martin Williams, 38, of Windsor Drive, Wigginton, made the threat after he had been arguing while driving in a car with his girlfriend on Ordnance Lane, York on October 19 last year.
York magistrates heard that at about 7pm the car skidded to a halt in the road where a nearby security guard was working before Williams’ girlfriend got out.
It was then that Williams saw the security guard and said to him “I will knock your head off and kill you” before getting back in the car and driving off.
The court heard that Williams did not know the security guard.
Williams pleaded guilty to using threatening words or behaviour to cause harassment alarm or distress.
He was ordered to pay a £30 fine, costs of £85 and a victim surcharge of £20.
