THE family of missing Megan Roberts are still holding on to hopes the student will be found safe and well, and have thanked wellwishers for their support.

Megan's mother Jackie has taken to a public Facebook page st up to help in the search for her daughter to thank people for their support, and has spoken of the hope they still hold out for the 20 year old.

Megan was reported missing a week ago today, but has not been seen since the early hours of the previous Thursday when she was on a night out with friends.

Police now say the most likely explanation is that the young girl went into the Ouse.

Writing on the "Help find Megan Roberts" Facebook page Jackie Roberts said: "We've been given as much information as the police can give us and all evidence does point towards this being a tragic run of events with no one to blame."

However, she said until they have a definite explanation the family will hold on to hopes for Megan.

Ms Roberts also thanked the public and the police for their support, kindness and care during the extremely difficult time.
