TWO men have been taken to hospital following separate crashes on a York road.

Emergency services are currently at the scene of the two vehicle crashes on the B1363 Sutton Road in Wigginton.

The first crash happened at about 5pm. A spokeswoman for the Yorkshire Ambulance Service said a 25-year-old man had suffered suspected chest and neck injuries in the crash, and had been taken to Leeds General Infirmary's major trauma centre.

The second crash happened at 5.16pm. The spokeswoman said one man suffered minor injuries in the crash, and has been taken to York Hospital.

Traffic has built up around the accident, Corban Lane and Goose Lane in Sutton-on-the-Forest.

A spokeswoman for North Yorkshire Fire Service said nobody had been trapped, but police and paramedics were at the scene.
