ONE of York’s most historic churches is being given a new lease of life.
A small team of people has been working since last September at St Cuthbert’s Church in Peasholme Green, which dates back to 1430.
The interior of the building has been painted and the group behind the project is looking to establish a House of Prayer.
A spokesman said the team was busy working towards a launch party on February 1, which would start at noon with a buffet, followed at 1pm by worship, prayer and a Commissioning of the House.
The spokesman said: “After this people can explore the building and meet the core team and find out more about what our vision and plans are.”
He urged anyone who was interested in joining the team, and who had some time available during the week, to get in touch by emailing james.fletcher@belfrey.org.
