PLANS for an antisocial behaviour hub in York have won a £58,000 grant.
The ASB Hub is due to open at City of York Council’s West Offices in Spring and will be home to a special team of enforcement officers from the council and police, and there are also proposals to give specific police powers to some council officers so they can tackle antisocial behaviour.
The venture will be jointly developed by York council, the Police and Crime Commissioner for North Yorkshire and North Yorkshire Police.
The Home Office grant will help build an IT system to case-manage antisocial behaviour (ASB) like nuisance, fly-tipping and graffiti, across different agencies and will also help pay for extra vehicles so community enforcement officers can respond to ASB calls more quickly.
