Arriva set to put up some of its bus fares

First published in News

Bus company Arriva Yorkshire is revising its fares, with some expected to rise.

The changes will come in from January 19. Some fares will rise by up to 10p, while others will remain frozen.

The all Yorkshire Zone multi-journey tickets, used throughout North Yorkshire, will be frozen at 2013 prices, including the day, week and four-weekly tickets.

The online ten per cent discount offer on all four-weekly tickets will continue at arrivabus.co.uk/yorkshire or via the Arriva Mobile Ticketing App.

Arriva Yorkshire regional managing director, Nigel Featham, said the company had applied the minimum increase possible for the coming year: “By capping any increase to the rate of inflation, we want to keep fares competitive and ensure travelling by bus remains attractive to passengers, for work, for family and for leisure.”

Another cost added to today's living costs.should keep the prices down and you may make more money because more people would use you.the government could help by giving psv cheaper tax and fuel allowance.in this day and age of austerity putting prices up gets people complaining and angry this stops people using buses.

doing something to reimburse bus companies against the massive losses they make due to Free Bus Passes might be something worthwhile; especially considering Arriva's 24/26/27 services cater in the most part for pass holders.

Still, a return from York to the Designer Outlet will still be cheaper on the 415 than it is on the 7!
