THIEVES stole Christmas presents which fell from a delivery van in York.
Police were called by members of the public after a man and a woman were seen acting suspiciously behind a storage container in Salisbury Terrace , and investigations showed items had been stolen from a mail sack meant for collection. The sack had fallen from a van which was travelling in the Leeman Road, Garfield Terrace and Salisbury Terrace area.
Images of a man and a woman suspected of stealing the gifts, which included Paul Smith brown leather shoes, a Hugo Boss perfume gift set and a Belkin surge master - to protect electrical equipment from surges - have been released by North Yorkshire Police, with a plea to identify them.
Both suspects are described as aged in their twenties. The man has shaved hair at the sides and back with longer hair on top. The woman has long dark hair and was wearing large gold earrings.
Anyone who recognises the people in the pictures should contact police on 101 or email paddy.green@northyorkshire.pnn.police.uk Alternatively pass information anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
