SPECIALIST water rescue crews have saved a man who jumped from a railway bridge in Brotherton into the River Aire.
Fire crews were called at around 11.30am today by the police, who had negotiators trying to speak to the man around half way across the railway bridge over the Aire.
A swift water rescue team from Selby fire station got a boat ready in the Aire and rescued the man when he jumped into the water.
He was treated by paramedics on the scene and handed over to the care of the police.
