Police are concerned for a missing Riccall man whose van has been found on cliffs in East Yorkshire and are appealing for the public's help to find him.

Simon Hodgson-Greaves, 47, was reported missing yesterday by a member of the public worried that his vehicle had been parked overnight when the owner was nowhere to be seen.

The van was at the RSPB visitor centre at Bempton Cliffs near Bridlington.

Simon was last seen by his family last Sunday, December 15 but is known to go on frequent camping trips and likes to go walking.

Police say they are now very concerned for his safety after finding his unoccupied vehicle and because he has not been in touch with his family. They are exploring the possibility Simon has gone walking in the area and got into difficulties.

Officers are appealing to any members of the public who might have seen Simon since Friday to contact them urgently.

Simon is white, around 6ft tall and of slim build. He has sandy coloured hair, a greying beard and moustache, blue eyes and wears spectacles. He is known to dress very smartly and often wears tweed jackets, shirts and scarves.

Anyone who has seen Simon or knows where he is should call North Yorkshire Police on 101, select option 1 and speak to the Force Control Room.
