CITY of York Council is investing £1,500 to make more disabled spaces available in the city’s car parks.
Work has now begun on expanding the number of parking spaces which are set aside for blue badge holders in the city centre.
There will be more disabled spaces at the Castle car park, Bootham Row car park, Monk Bar car park and Piccadilly car park – where they are set aside for the shopmobility scheme.
The council is also encouraging people to come forward with suggestions for more places to add disabled spaces in council car parks by emailing highway.regulation@york.gov.uk
