OUR Deliverer Of The Year competition is giving you the chance to show your appreciation for the unsung heroes who bring newspapers to your door whatever the weather.

We want you to nominate your delivery boy or girl if you think they deserve it, maybe for their dedication to the job or for an act of kindness or courage while delivering our newspapers, or even just for providing you with a reliable service. Whatever the reason, we would love to hear from you.

There will be two awards presented, both sponsored by CycleStreet York. The first award will go to a paper boy or girl who delivers newspapers for a newsagent; Retail Deliverer of the Year 2013. The second will go to someone who delivers direct for Newsquest; Press Direct Deliverer of the Year 2013.

Both winners will receive a new bike to the value of £300.

If you would like to make a nomination, fill in the coupon and return it to us at the Freepost address given, to arrive no later than December 31. The winner will be announced in January.

Paul Coleman, of The Press home delivery team, said: “We’re delighted that, once again, we’ve joined forces with Cycle Street York to run The Press Newspaper Deliverer of the Year Awards in recognition of the hard work of the army of newspaper distributors in ensuring our customers receive their papers, whatever the weather.

“During December we will be asking readers of The Press to nominate their newspaper deliverer if they think they deserve it, either for their dedication to the job or for a specific act of kindness or courage while out delivering our newspapers.”
