BURGLARS forced their way into a York home and stole a laptop, handbag and car early today.
The break-in happened at a house on Alma Terrace at about 3.20am, with the people living there being woken by their security alarm and the sound of their white Audi A1 being driven away.
The intruders had got into the house through the back door, with three abandoned bicycles being found nearby. Police believe these were used by the burglars and are also investigating reports of three people being spotted in the garden of a neighbouring house by its owner.
The Audi was found undamaged at about 11.40am at the junction of Elmfield Terrace and Straylands Grove. Anybody who saw suspicious activity in the Alma Terrace area at the time of the break-in should phone York CID on 101, pressing option two email YorkCID@northyorkshire.pnn.police.uk, or contact Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
