A DATE has been set for the funeral of Stephen Hall, also known as Stephen Walters, who was found dead at an address in York earlier this month.
Last week, Mr Hall’s friend David Petherick told The Press he wanted to trace Mr Hall’s family to ensure they could pay their respects at the funeral.
Mr Petherick, of Scarcroft Hill, said Mr Hall had never spoken at length about his family, but he understood he had relatives in York and North Yorkshire.
He said: “The funeral has been organised by the city under the national assistance act.
“But they want to get on with it and to do that they need to arrange a date and I’m keen that his family have the opportunity to attend.
“It’s very sad and it’s only fair his family should have the chance to say goodbye.”
The funeral will be held at York Crematorium on December 20, at 9.40am.
Anyone who knew Mr Hall is welcome to attend.
