A SERIES of free training sessions have been held to help York residents learn how to use computers has been launched at libraries around the city.

The NHS Health Online Sessions, run with City of York Council, have been organised at libraries in Acomb, Tang Hall and Clifton throughout the month.

The aim is to make the internet more accessible to residents, and teach them how to locate a GP and fitness services, check symptoms, and learn about living a healthy lifestyle.

Coun Sonja Crisp said: “These beginner sessions for people with little or no computer knowledge and experience will help people to find out more about the NHS and its services – information that is useful and relevant to all of us.”

The final session will be held at Clifton Library on Monday, at 10am and 11am.

To book a place or find out about future free sessions, phone Liam Wilkinson on 01904 552651 or contact your local library.
