POLICE want to find a vital witness after a minor collision on a road in Escrick.

A Volvo V40 driven by a 49-year-old York woman, and a Ford Kuga, driven by a 59-year-old woman, also from York were both involved.

It happened at around 6.45pm on Monday at the junction of the A19 and Skipwith Road and the Kuga driver was taken to York District Hospital with minor injuries.

Police think a witness, who had been following the Volvo, stopped at the scene but left before officers arrived.

Traffic Constable Martin Recchia, of the Force’s Roads Policing Group, said: “If you are the driver of the car who stopped at the scene, I urge you to contact the police straight away as you may have vital information that could help my enquiry.

“I also need to speak to anyone who witnessed the collision, and has not yet contacted the police, to do as soon as possible.”

Anyone who can assist with this investigation should contact North Yorkshire Police on 101, select option 2 and ask for Martin Recchia. Alternatively, information can be emailed to martin.recchia@northyorkshire.pnn.police.uk quoting ref 12130208653.
