THE wife of Sean Boy Finney today paid an emotional tribute to her husband, who died at a caravan park near Selby.

Mr Finney, 23, an amateur boxer, was found unconscious in a caravan at The Ranch park in Cliffe, on Sunday. He later died.

Yesterday, his wife Alexandra said: “My husband, my best friend, my life, my everything, my Sean Boy Finney has left this earth to go to heaven. He had a heart of gold, was kind, loving and caring.

“As heartbroken as I am, he’s given me strength through God. God has told me he is in peace and God will look after him until I arrive. His heart and head are in peace. He promised he’d never leave me and he hasn’t. My love for Sean will never die and his love for me will never die. True and unconditional love. I love you for eternity my Sean.”

Speaking to The Press this week, Billy Wilson, who coached Mr Finney at York Boxing Club, said: “He had a lot of potential.

“He was a good kid, a really good kid, everyone in the gym who knew him liked him. Outside of boxing we were good mates. I never met anyone with a bad word against him.”

North Yorkshire Police believe there was a fight at the caravan park on Saturday night which was witnessed by a large number of people.

Detective Chief Inspector Maria Taylor said: “If you were present and have not yet come forward, I urge you to contact the police straight away, as you may have vital information that could help my investigation. I am particularly keen to speak to anyone who may have witnessed the man being assaulted or noticed a disturbance and urge them to get in touch.”

Three men were arrested and interviewed in connection with Mr Finney’s death, and have been released on bail.

Anyone with information should phone police on 101 or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555111.
