MEMBERS of the Woodthorpe Craft Group get to work on items they have been making for international charity Knit For Peace.
The group, which was set up three years ago, has been meeting twice a month at the Parish Church of St James the Deacon in Woodthorpe to create the items. Member Gwen Taylor said: “The group is open to all and we welcome any craft, but the main craft is knitting.
“We found out about Knit For Peace through the UK Hand Knitting Association.”
Knit For Peace also establishes and supports knitting groups in deprived areas throughout the UK to encourage regular community activities.
The group’s selection of clothing, mainly for children, will now be sent to families in both the UK and abroad.
