Help needed for clean-up of Chapman’s Pond, off Moor Lane
7:59am Saturday 2nd November 2013 in News
RESIDENTS and anglers have been invited to take part in the ongoing improvements at a pond in York.
Chapman’s Pond, off Moor Lane, is undergoing a series of improvements, outlined by City of York Council and The Friends of Chapman’s Pond, which will include the creation of new wildlife habitats.
This weekend, trees will be cut back at the site with the help of the council, and volunteers are needed today, between 1pm and 3pm.
The Friends hope the improvements will help secure a Green Flag Award for the area, and a new footpath into the site has already been built with the help of a funding bid to Yorventure.
The Angling Trust and North Yorkshire Police will also deliver regular fishing coaching sessions, with the first taking place next Saturday, between 11am and 3pm.
