KEEN darts players in York are being given the chance to play against five-times world champion Eric Bristow – the Crafty Cockney – when he comes to York in April next year.
A knockout event at the Post Office Working Men’s Club in Marygate on Sunday, November 17, open to all-comers, will help to select players to challenge Bristow when he visits the club on April 12 next year. Both events are in aid of the hospice.
Entry to the knockout competition is £3, and there is no need to book. Up to 14 players will be chosen. Also appearing at that event will be comedian Jimmy Bright, and the MC will be Paul Booth.
The evening has been arranged by Wayne Brady, whose brother-in-law was cared for at the hospice, and Matt Dobson.
Wayne said: “I wanted to do something to help the hospice, which is a great place and provides wonderful care.
VIP tickets for April’s event, including a glass of wine and the chance to meet the player, are £20, and standard tickets are £15. They are available on 07968 400990 or 07833 691622.
