Bumper crop of pumpkins at adventure farm park
8:13am Tuesday 29th October 2013 in News
A BUMPER crop of pumpkins is among the attractions at an adventure farm park in York this half-term.
Ed Sykes is the owner of Piglets Adventure Farm Park at the Farmer’s Cart, Towthorpe Grange. He said 10,000 pumpkins had been grown there this year, and children and families could take a tour of the pumpkin patch and choose their own.
Mr Sykes said: “It’s been busy this weekend. The bad weather put people off a bit, but hopefuly it will get better this week.
“This half-term is the tenth year we’ve run our Pumpkin Festival, with pumpkin carving, spooky storytelling with witches, a pumpkin slingshot and a corn cannon.
“There’s also a fancy dress competition for the children at 3pm every day.”
