CALM and composed Thorpe United Under-15s revelled in a goal-fest as they beat Sherburn White Rose 9-0 in the Barkston Ash U16s Cup.

Thorpe opened the scoring in the first two minutes when James Arnold’s cross was dropped by the Sherburn goalkeeper allowing Corey Littlefield to tapin.

That was quickly followed by Jamie Hardacre being upended just outside the area. He took the free-kick and duly found the net with a well struck drive.

After more concerted pressure, Jordan Emery’s corner was met by Tim Heaton who played the ball to Richard Buckthorpe who scored with a wonderful volley.

Soon after, Ben Clowes played some good football to get beyond his markers and cross for Littlefield to sweep the ball beyond the static ’keeper to score his second.

Buckthorpe was hacked down on the stroke of halftime and when his free-kick was only partially cleared Corey Littlefield completed his hat-trick to give Thorpe a 5-0 half-time lead.

When Clowes was impeded from behind Emery made no mistake from the penalty spot to continue Thorpe’s mastery.

A stinging shot from manof- the match Hardacre could only be pushed out by the Sherburn ’keeper for Franks to pounce and force in the rebound.

Littlefield added his fourth, and United’s eighth goal, with a header from a Franks cross and victory was rounded off when Hardacre buried a free-kick into the bottom of the Sherburn net.
