6:31pm Monday 7th October 2013 in News
THREE young men have today been remanded in custody accused of carrying out a gang attack with weapons on a 28-year-old man in a York street in daylight.
Jack Alexander, 19, of Roche Avenue, off Bell Farm Avenue, York, Billy Allan, 18, of Kempton Close, Acomb, and Jordan Ellerby, 18, of Kirkham Avenue, off Bell Farm Avenue, all face charges of wounding with intention to cause grievous bodily harm and possessing an offensive weapon in public.
They were arrested after the 28-year-old man allegedly suffered head injuries when he was attacked by four men armed with weapons including a knife and a golf club, in Lowther Street at midday on Saturday.
Kevin Blount applied for bail for all three during the brief hearing before York Magistrates Court, but their applications were rejected. They will all next appear before York Crown Court for a preliminary hearing on October 21.
