Air ambulance attends accident at Rowntree Park

THE air ambulance was called to an accident at Rowntree Park after a boy suffered suspected spinal injuries when he fell from play equipment.
Emergency services were called to the scene at about 2.45pm today after the child, who is understood to be 13-years-old, fell after climbing on monkey bars.
He was airlifted to Leeds General Infirmary at 3.25pm where he is being treated for suspected spinal injuries.
His condition is not believed to be life threatening, police said.
The area was cleared by emergency services after the accident and police prevented people from going near the climbing equipment until the scene could be examined by City of York Council.
