STUDENTS have been campaigning in support of York becoming a living wage city.
As part of Freshers Fortnight, students at York St John University have been campaigning in support of making the city a better place to work and live.
The living wage refelects how much income households need to be able to afford an acceptable standard of living, and stands at £7.45 outside London.
Adam McSkimming, president of York St John Students’ Union said, “We had over in 150 signatures [in support of the campaign] in such a short space of time. Hopefully we can work together with local partners and the City of York Council to make an impact.”
