Forty children have been selected to appear in this year’s pantomime, Snow White And The Seven Dwarfs, at The Grand Opera House in York.
Boys and girls, aged seven and over, were invited to try out for a place in the production.
The audiitions were split into two categories, one for “babes” – who were no taller than 5ft 2ins – and one for “seniors,” who were taller than that.
Just under 200 children attended the auditions.
They were whittled down to 40 who were chosen to appear in the show.
All the children will take on roles in the chorus, which will incorporate both singing and dancing during the show.
They have already been placed into two teams which will perform alternate shows once the run gets underway.
Rehearsals, which will be mainly after school and at weekends, begin on Monday, November 25.
The production itself will run from December 13 until January 5, with 12 shows per week.
