A NEW campaign has been launched for more people to become community support officers with North Yorkshire Police.
Posts for new PCSOs are available around the region, to bolster the 176 already working alongside the force’s 1,392 police officers.
Police And Crime Commissioner Julia Mulligan has encouraged people who are comfortable working in the community to apply.
She said: “PCSOs make a real difference to local people and play a big part in making our county the safest in England. What’s more, over the course of the past few months I have received many extremely positive comments about PCSOs and their integral role as members of our communities.”
The Chief Constable of North Yorkshire, Dave Jones, said: “This latest recruitment campaign confirms the commitment that the commissioner and I have made to maintaining numbers on the front line in North Yorkshire and the city of York.”
The closing date for applications is Monday, October 7, at 5pm. Anyone interested in becoming a PCSO should go to northyorkshire.police.uk/pcso
