A CYCLIST has been killed in a crash on a North Yorkshire road this morning, police have confirmed.
The 42-year-old man's bike was involved in a collision with a silver Ford Mondeo on Boroughbridge Road at Bridge Hewick, near Ripon, at about 7.30am, and he was airlifted to Leeds General Infirmary. The driver of the car was not injured.
The stretch of the B6265 where the crash happened was closed both ways while police began an investigation, but has now reopened. The man who died has not yet been named.
Anybody who saw the collision should phone North Yorkshire Police on 101 and ask for the force control room.
