Schoolboy finds five-leafed clover
ONE lucky schoolboy has stumbled upon not a four, but a five-leafed clover.
Nine-year-old Aleksandar Cooper made the one-in-20,000 discovery in a field near his house in The Avenue, Rufforth.
A four-leafed clover is a universally accepted symbol of good luck, but a five-leaf clover is said to attract more good luck as well as money. Just like the four-leafed clover the five-leafed clover is a mutation, but it is much less common although occasionally six and seven-leafed clovers can occur.
Aleksandar’s father Robert, a catering manager, has been looking for a four-leaf clover for years and was delighted when his son came back with five-leaf clover.
He said: “As a child I always wanted to find a four-leaf clover so I was really happy for him, but maybe a bit gutted myself. We all couldn’t believe it, and his friends at school didn’t either so hopefully we can now prove that he found it.”
