8:29am Monday 16th September 2013 in News
A CELEBRATION of community food and arts in York has been planned for later this month.
The event, which coincides with the York Festival of Food & Drink, consists of a tour of Edible York growing sites and other local food enterprises, accompanied by street theatre and musical performances.
Imelda Havers, co-ordinator of The Incredible Movement (TIM) in York, which runs the event, said: “This will be a fun way of demonstrating the principle at the heart of TIM in York: that we can create simple acts within our communities that can make life better for all of us.”
The event begins at the Barbican growing beds on Thursday, September 26, at 4.30pm and is free, though donations are appreciated.
It will culminate in a party at The New Schoolhouse Gallery on Peasholme Green.
