Teenager charged after York street attack

DETECTIVES have tonight charged an 18-year-old man following an attack in a York street which left the victim in hospital with serious head injuries.
Anthony Lansbury, 51, is being treated in Hull Royal Infirmary after being assaulted in Melrosegate, near Tang Hall Working Men's Club and the Freshways supermarket, in the early hours of last Thursday. His condition is said to be improving.
North Yorkshire Police has tonight confirmed an 18-year-old has been charged with wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm following the assault after answering bail today. He has been remanded in custody and will appear at York Magistrates' Court on Tuesday.
