A MAN suffered a gash to his head, three broken ribs and a broken arm after a night out in York.

The head wound needed 15 stitches.
A North Yorkshire Police spokesman said: "All his injuries are consistent with an assault and it is suspected that he was attacked at some point on his way home. Officers are appealing to anyone who saw the man or can help establish what happened to him on his route home, to get in touch."
The man is white with a stocky build and short greying hair. He was wearing a red checked shirt, blue jeans and brown boots.
