Fundraisers take up It’s A Knockout challenge at York's Knavesmire to support St Leonard’s Hospice
SEVENTEEN teams got several soakings when they took up the challenge of St Leonard’s Hospice to go on a summer holiday.
The teams in the hospice’s second It’s A Knockout tournament had to negotiate a “shopping spree in Amsterdam” with narrow streets and canals and be creative with the toppings for giant Italian ice-cream cornets, among other crazy games.
The series of games on York Knavesmire had the theme We’re All Going On A Summer Holiday, and also featured silly inflatable costumes and plenty of foam and water.
Annie Keogh, corporate fundraiser for the hospice, said: “This year’s event was enormous fun – it’s amazing how people will do silly things to have fun and to raise funds for the hospice. Our congratulations to the winning team, but with such fantastic support we think they were all winners.”
The 17 teams included the home team of Lennie’s Loonies, Fleetways Taxis’ Reem Team, two bus company teams – The Danum Warriors from First Bus Doncaster and Gran-u-firstly from First Bus York – and last year’s winners, Jubilee Diamonds.
