Figures showing how many drivers breached new traffic rules on the first day of the controversial trial closure of Lendal Bridge will be revealed next week.
The bridge is now closed to cars, motorbikes, vans and lorries between 10.30am and 5pm every day until the end of February. The trial closure began last Tuesday. Breaching the regulations carries a £60 fine, reduced to £30 if paid within 14 days.
The council originally said it hoped to have figures for offenders on the first day of the trial by the end of last week, but the number of tickets issued was still being verified by an external firm
