THE daughter of a war veteran has donated this ceramic model to the Yorkshire Museum of Farming, near York.
Valda Barnett and her mother, Brenda Powell, attended a Women’s Land Army reunion at the museum at Murton Park during its opening weekend to celebrate the new Heritage Lottery Funded exhibition Feeding The Nation at Easter.
Brenda, who served in the Land Army, loved the exhibition and enjoyed meeting old colleagues. Sadly, she recently passed away and her daughter has now donated this Border Fine Arts sculpture from her mother’s collection to the museum depicting a Land Army girl herding cows.
Naomi Beeley, outreach community officer for the Women’s Land Army Project at the museum, is pictured in Land Army uniform with the sculpture.
