THE battle to stop a controversial incinerator being built in the North Yorkshire countryside goes on after opponents re-launched their court case.
Marton-cum-Grafton Parish Council is asking the Court of Appeal for permission to appeal against the High Court decision supporting the planning decision to allow the building of the £1.4 billion waste burner at Allerton Park near Knaresborough.
The campaign group North Yorkshire Waste Action Group had asked the High Court for a judicial review of the process that led to the incinerator getting planning approval.
